MAURICE KIMBALL

ABOUT MAURICE "Skip" KIMBALL

Maurice is a seasoned creative leader with extensive experience across various entertainment industries, including TV animation, theme parks, and AAA games.
He has worked on some of the world's most iconic properties and is currently a Senior Art Director in the animation industry. His contributions can be seen in popular projects such as Disney's "Monsters at Work," LucaFilm’s "Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures," and Sony's upcoming Netflix series, "Hotel Transylvania."
Throughout his career, Maurice co-founded Atomhawk Design Vancouver, where he served as the Creative Director at their Vancouver studio. Atomhawk focuses primarily on visual development and concept art, participating in projects that include major AAA games and a theme park in Doha.
Before this, he was Art Director at Atomic Cartoons and WildBrain, working on several acclaimed animated series. He has several notable accomplishments as an art director and visual development artist at leading studios, including Activision Blizzard, Microsoft Game Studios, Universal Creative, Nickelodeon, Film Roman, Warner Bros., and Disney.
Before entering the animation industry, Maurice had a successful 20-year career in the gaming sector. He served as Art Director and Lead Concept Artist on the game "PROTOTYPE" by Activision/Blizzard and was the Lead Environment Artist for "Sleeping Dogs."
Prior to transitioning to animation in 2013, he spent several years as a Studio Art Director at Microsoft Game Studios. Over his career, Maurice has credited more than 50 game titles, spanning a wide range of audiences from children to adults.
In 2022, Maurice pursued his passion for writing and creating original intellectual property (IP). He founded Tiny Tinker Productions, his intellectual property (IP) holding company, to support the development of his creative projects. He conceptualizes visuals, writes story premises, and crafts music lyrics and melodies from his imagination.
In September 2024, he released his first book titled "Vita Mortuis: Fear Behind the Seethe Door," which is available online on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and is currently being adapted into a play.
